New in Razuna: Updated Chrome extension, dynamic file names on upload, right-click everywhere
Over the past week, we made a few changes to the things you do repeatedly in Razuna: finding files while browsing, giving uploads useful names, and opening the action you need.
Alongside Smart Views, we've updated the Chrome extension, added dynamic file names to upload templates, and brought right-click actions to more of the file browser. Here's what each change does and where to use it.
An updated Chrome extension
The Razuna Chrome extension lets you save useful material from the web and work with your library alongside the page you're visiting. This update improves side-panel search across the Razuna workspaces you can access, so you can find an asset without opening another browser tab.
We've also added a Custom URL option for teams using their own Razuna server. Choose your USA or EU account as before, or select Custom URL in the extension settings and enter your server's HTTPS address. After changing servers, verify your access token and select the upload workspace and folder for that server.
Search failures now come with clearer retry messages, too. If a request fails, you get a useful next step instead of being left wondering what happened.
The collection tools remain close at hand: save an image, selected text, or a page screenshot as you browse. If you're new to that workflow, see how Collect+ works, or read our earlier walkthrough of Collect+ and the browser extension.
Dynamic file names on upload
A camera filename is useful to the camera. Your team may need a project name, a date, or a sequence number to tell files apart.
Upload templates can now apply naming rules as new files arrive. Enable Rename new uploads in a template, then choose a base name and an optional prefix and suffix. The rule can use:
- The original filename or your own text.
- A value from a custom metadata field.
- A date or timestamp.
- A numeric or alphabetic sequence, or random characters, in the prefix or suffix.
Choose a hyphen, underscore, or space between the parts. For example, a "campaign" base with a three-digit sequence suffix can produce campaign-001.jpg, campaign-002.jpg, and so on. The original file extension is kept, and the live example helps you check the pattern before saving.

Assign the template in a folder's upload settings. Child folders can inherit it, so the same naming pattern can cover a project hierarchy. We covered the wider setup in our introduction to upload templates and folder organization.
Naming rules are off until you enable them. They apply to new folder uploads through the web app, API, and MCP. Existing files, new versions, and upload-link submissions keep their current naming behavior.
Right-click where you're working
Common actions are now available from contextual menus on files, selected files, folders, and empty space in the folder browser.
Right-click a file to find actions such as preview, download, rename, sharing, and file information. Select several files to work with them as a group. Right-click a folder for folder actions, or empty space to start an upload or create a folder.
The menu follows the item, your selection, and your permissions. You get the actions available in that context, close to the files you're working on.
Also new: Smart Views
Our larger release this week is Smart Views: custom, rule-based views you can save and share with your team. It has its own walkthrough with examples and setup steps: New in Razuna: Smart Views.
