What is the new Razuna all about?

It's worth noting that the Razuna version you're currently utilizing was developed over 15 years ago. Although it received ongoing improvements and support, its outdated technology stack posed challenges when introducing updates and making design changes. A significant modification was inevitable to address these issues.

Helpmonks, the company behind Razuna, developed features we planned to introduce in a future Razuna. Merging the two products made sense.

We released the new Razuna in December 2022 with essential features and a plan to bring it feature-wise to the Razuna, you know (hence this announcement now and not earlier). Read on more below what has changed.

The most notable changes

We have made some significant changes to how you share files on Razuna. You can now share individual files, folders, collections, and workspaces by creating unique links with different options. You can create as many links as you need, making controlling who can access your files easier.

We also introduced a new feature called "Workspaces." Unlike Razuna, where everyone shares a single account, each user has an account with a private workspace called "My workspace." However, there is still a shared space for all team files. A team member can create a shared workspace and invite others to join it. This new feature provides powerful file management and offers more options than just one account for everyone.

How to migrate?

Due to the changes, we will not migrate your account automatically. Hence, please schedule a meeting to plan the migration.

FYI, the migration is automated and free of charge; no manual steps are required.

Questions & Answers

Can you explain the transfer process from our existing library to the new Razuna?

We have scripts that migrate your data (in the database) to the new installation and place the available values into the new instance. The files themselves will also be transferred automatically to our new cloud infrastructure. All your data, all folders, all files, and all settings, will be migrated.

Due to how the new Razuna version works, users will have their own Razuna account (the new version has free account options) and a personal Workspace. A Workspace is used to share the same files with your team, and all team members will have access to that workspace. You can use Teams (Groups) to apply access permissions for Workspaces or add individual users.

The length of the migration depends on the amount of data you have. Razuna will remain online during this one-way migration, but we recommend avoiding any changes.

What happens after the migration?

We understand the importance of maintaining data integrity and training, which is why we will keep your "old" library online for up to two weeks. During this time, we encourage you to double-check if everything has been migrated properly and to provide training and documentation for your team. We are open to discussing if you need a longer retention time.

Are you sunsetting the current Razuna?

We are currently planning to move all users to the new Razuna platform. As a small team, we cannot afford to support multiple applications, so we need to concentrate our resources. However, we have yet to determine an exact timeline for the migration.

Will there be any price changes?

We have simplified our pricing structure to offer one price for all features. The cost is now $80 per month for each TB. For the most up-to-date pricing information, please visit our pricing page.
